Fandom Gives Back 2010

Originally I was going to do cross-stitch. I even went so far as to start one.

Then I was going to do a bag. I'm still working on it but I think it may become a birthday gift..or something.

Finally, I decided I was going to do jewelery.

I may have stretched myself a little too thin last FGB auction (since I'm still working on some of the projects). So I've made the jewelery and I'm prepared to leave it at that.

Without further ado, I present this year for Fandom Gives Back Eclipse Edition, my offerings for the auction.

The "Bella" Set features a necklace and bracelet; each with a Swarovski crystal heart and light purple beads.

Necklace
Bracelet

Full "Bella" Set

AND

The "Isle Esme" Bracelet features two Swarovski crystal hearts and mother-of-pearl beads.

What else have you seen that's going up for auction?

What will you guys be bidding on this year?

Let me know what you think of my items :)

Sincerely,
ELAY

Hooza-ma-whatchit

I make up words when I'm bored/confused/frustrated. Currently? I'm bored.

I'm on spring break this week. The thing about spring break, while I appreciate that I can sleep in a little more than normal (I'm not working either), I'm so boring. Like, watching paint dry boring. I don't go anywhere for spring break. I don't have any friends to celebrate spring break with. So what will I be doing for break this year? Quilting! I sound like I'm ninety and not my sprightly twenty.

Also, to add to that disturbing image, the pain medication for my hips gave me migraines so they took me off it. Now, I spend my days laying on the couch complaining about the pain. It gets worse when it's cold....like today...when it SNOWED. WTF Maine?

Well...Shit.

I just got back from my first (I've already bought my ticket for the second) viewing of Remember Me. In lamens terms, IT. WAS. EXTRAORDINARY.

The beginning is...shocking, to say the least. I will admit the ONLY issue I took with the movie (and this is considering even the end) was that the beginning was a little hard to get in to. It was slow-going but dear GOD did it ever go above and BEYOND every expectation I had.

I'm not the biggest Emilie De Ravin fan, I'll own up to it right now, but I think she fit the role. It certainly wasn't an easy role to fill.

And there was Tate, who was FANTASTIC. Absolutely hilarious. He definitely had some of the best lines in the movie. I'm telling you now, take note of this guy. He's pretty good and I loved him in this.

I want to hate Pierce Brosnan so bad right now. I want to, but I can't.

And Ruby makes my ovaries spontaneously ovulate. That is all.

Finally, we come to the RPatz. Every time his face popped up on the screen I figured I would go, "That's Edward Cullen...meh" and in all honesty, I didn't, not ONCE. I'm even guilty of trying to bring the RPatz down. I tried to put him in this box and tell myself that he's a one-hit-wonder. And I just couldn't convince myself. His performance was beautiful and touching and everything the best of actors can sometimes only DREAM of. He was wonderful.

You know how in a recent interview Rob compared Remember Me to Ordinary People and I swooned/died a little? He. Was. Spot. ON.

Ordinary People is one of my favorite movies. It falls under a category that is unnameable and perfect (oddly enough, Ordinary People was a little hard for me to get into as well).

OP was made back in 1980 now, in 2010, Remember Me has taken that concept and blown it out of the water.

There's no damsels in distress, no knights in shining armor, there's no incredible acts of saving the world or professing undying love; just a pure and real and beautifully simple story.

I ached in my chest and my gut and every finger and toe when those girls picked on Caroline. I laughed with Aidan. I felt the pain of loss every time I looked at Tyler and he was so agonized, so at a loss of what to do with himself.

This movie isn't a fairy tale, there's no happily ever after, but it's stunning anyway. It'll slap you in the face and sucker punch you in the gut and it's so heartwrenchingly wonderful that your masochistic self will keep coming back for more. Just a true beauty of a movie. And I think that's all that matters.

The End.

I'm Just Having A Good Day

These are the tweets I received earlier this evening from the winner of the pillows:

"I just came home and received your pillows! I'm so overwhelmed- they are absolutely gorgeous! They far exceed my expectations!"
"Thank you thank you thank you for all your hard work. I will proudly display them at home, and will most certainly write a review" (I had asked that she leave a review on FGB for the 2010 auction that I hope to participate in)
"I was only expecting pillow CASES too, but you've made actual cushions, and the designs are so gorgeous."

And apparently I'm cute (in that adorable, 'I wanna pinch your cheeks way.') This pretty much was the cherry on top of my ice-cream-sundae-of-a-day.

I'm so glad that I could participate. Now I just need to finish those quilts. I'm starting the tacking and most of the fabric has been purchased. I've also mapped out a general design for both.

Hopefully I get just as enthusiastic reactions from the other auction winners. :)

So thank you to drscully (for confidentiality reasons I'll refrain from using her name) for your enthusiasm.

And thank you to the lovely ladies at my local fabric store for tolerating my madness.

Cold Feet

As in, I have cold feet. And I had cold feet in the doctors office this morning because I was NEKKID. And it was awful.

The speculum is not my friend. It was kinda painful. And very violating.

The only thing I found worse,

the breast exam.

And you're probably ask yourself, 'Self, what could be worse than having your hoohah stretched by a shiny metal contraption.' Well, to you I say, I had to look my doctor in the eye while she felt me up. I think my face caught fire. I have never blushed so hard in my life.

My mom told me it was part of "womanhood," it comes with the territory.

My sister doesn't want to ever grow up.

I just want to go crawl in a hole and hide. It was more embarrassing than anything else.

On top of that,

I have to be in court on Friday and I'm behind on homework.

At least I haven't gone blind yet.

(Has anyone else noticed how much I've been whining lately?)

I'mma Be A Hot Mess

There is no agony like bearing an untold story inside of you. -Maya Angelou

Woman knew what she was talking about.

I just completed Fields on Fire, over 4,000 words in 3 days. I feel...kind of accomplished.

Now I've just got to finish...everything else. And my homework. Hot damn.

What I'm currently working on:

Armageddon

Existential

Hypoc. and Sin.

Two other one-shots that have yet to be titled.

I'm a writing fool, yo.

Now go read Fields on Fire. I like seeing that counter go up.

Oh. And here's the banner I made for FoF:

Simple enough. haha.

Pillow Fight!

So, as some of you are aware, I offered up my services to The Fandom Gives Back '09. I auctioned off a Queen quilt, a Twin quilt, as well as the the 3-piece pillow set. To make this short and sweet, the pillow set has been finished for a few weeks, however, I'm just now able to send them out to the lucky winner, drscully.

Here are a few pictures:

Ta da!

Now I just need to finish the quilts :)

ZOMG The Giggle

What does the "z" stand for in zomg? Anyone?

That's beside the point.

I'm a dork. A mega-humongous-scary-giant-dork. It's sad. And hilarious. At the same time. Awesome.

I stutter when I'm nervous. Hence, the mega-dork.

Hanging out with Becca again was really fun. I've missed it lots. Only problem, I cannot hold a conversation to save my life. There's something wrong with me. I think there's only so many times I can go, "haha," before she bitch slaps me. Fo' realz. And still, I wish we did it more.

I wonder how Brie's going to handle me at ComicCon...

Brie...you're not big on conversation, right? Comfortable silences? :)

Anywhoozle,

I saw Percy Jackson and the Olympians:The Lightning Thief twice in one day. It.is.MAGICAL.

I've officially seen it more times than I've seen New Moon, but we're not going to touch on that mess.

Logan Lerman is beautiful. As are his eyes.

The CGI was pretty awesome.

My favorite scene, hands down (and those of you who have talked to me today will not be surprised), the Lotus Blossom scene with THE GIGGLE. It's crazy adorable. *le sigh*

The only thing I took issue with (as I've mentioned on Twitter) is that I figured out who the lightening thief was in advance. And it didn't even really matter. It was just that good (because any other movie I would have raged all over that).

It was dorky and cute and I loved it. The end.

Well, on that subject anyway.

Moving on, this new medication is kicking my ass. It's what's been making me physically sick (think that spew session on the side of 395, and you can STILL see it) and gives me wicked awful vertigo. My veins feel like they're full of helium. I don't like it.

The thing is, I was on this before and I became addicted to it. Completely involuntary mind you. As soon as I noticed I stopped it (which was not a bright idea because you're supposed to be weaned off ). I had to go through a whole slew of withdrawal symptoms. It's nasty. I don't recommend it. I've had the same problem with sleeping pills. Apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment.

My new Med. Management decided it would be different if I tried an ODT (orally disintegrating tablet) instead of swallowing a pill (because I have issues with swallowing certain medications) and a much lower dose.

I have NEVER had nausea this bad on ANY medication.

Like I said, it's kicking my ass.

I'm calling her on Monday to have my medication switched.

Is This Really What We've Become?

Because honestly, it's kind of disgusting and heart-wrenching at the same time.

I have spent 18 years trying (desperately, I might add) to make my sister happy. I have sacrificed my health, monetary resources, my grades, my emotional well-being just to make sure that she has what I thought she needed.

It was always a give-take relationship. I gave and she took.

I've been seeing the same therapist for 6 years and in all the time she has known me, she knows that I would sacrifice anything and everything for my sister. She does not approve of our relationship, in fact, she's been pushing for me to cut all possible ties with her.

And in August, when she moves, that is exactly what I'm going to do.

It's going to kill me. I can feel it already just typing this up. I love my sister because she's my sister, my blood. And since I was little, I've wanted nothing more than for us to be close. But recently, I've come to the realization that if I was not in any way related to her, I would not want anything to do with her. I would think she's a destructive, vile, awful person. She's toxic.

And as hard as it is, and will be, to distance myself from her, it's something that must be done.

If she calls me, I will not answer.

If she e-mails me, I will not open it. It will go directly to the trash can.

If she tries to contact me over Skype (which I know she has plans of to speak with our parents), I will not answer. In fact, I'll probably block her. It's called a telephone. I know my parents and my sister know how to use one.

If she so much as sends me a fucking smoke signal, I'll ignore it.

And I'm sure I'll have my weak moments and I'll want to see how she's doing, but I'll have to ask my parents or I will have to ignore the feeling.

I have always been the punching bag, the door mat, the available person when no one else is. I'm dependable and I enable her destruction.

I will not be available to take the blame for her anymore. If she hits me, I will not fight back. I will take it and I will use it to further my strength in distancing myself from her. (Unless there is the threat of serious injury, such as broken bones; which it wouldn't be the first time.)

She has aimed knives at me in her anger and I have let her. She took a baseball bat to my back and I let her. She has broken my glasses in her rage on more than one occasion.

I will not consider any relationship with her until there has been some change. Until she takes responsibility, until she stops using people for her own benefit, I will not be anything more than civil with her and nothing less.

I will cry and I will bitch, but if I want to save myself, I have to get rid of the toxic. I will wash myself of her and I will start over.

I am done.

Snap, Crackle, Pop, Rice Crispies! A Post in Which We Debate My Food Consumption & Lack of Discipline

Tonight alone I've been devouring everything I get even the teeniest craving for.

Within about 4 hours I have eaten 3 bowls of rice crispies, 2 English muffin pizzas, and zucchini and shrimp sauteed in garlic and butter.

It's official. I'm a bottomless pit.

Or as my sister would put it, I've been smoking too much pot and I have the munchies x3459347963957.

Or another theory,

He'll Make You Do The Macarena As You Rock Your Tamagotchi

In six hours, spread between last night and later this morning, I finished Shadows in the Asylum: The Case Files of Dr. Charles Marsh. Holy Hannah, I thought I might pee myself. Or at least while I was reading it last night when it was dark and the house was all quiet (<--Great setting for scary movies AND scary books).

It was a total bend-me-over-and-fuck-me-sideways kind of thriller. By the end of it, I wasn't really sure if the "hallucinations" were actually hallucinations or some kind of supernatural creature. Either way, they further my fear of the dark. It was messed up, end of story. Total screwed with my head but I liked it.

I'm thinking I want to start Unwind tomorrow. Maybe something a little thinner.

I've been M-I-M-I-A

Psst! The title was a play on Old McDonald if you didn't catch that.

So, I've completed my third semester, Christmas has come and gone, so has the new year and the Fandom Gives Back '09.

The Fandom Gives Back was a huge success. I have been working on my auction items. The pillows are almost completed and I'm preparing to ship those out (Note to self: e-mail drscully about her pillows). I've been working on the designs for the quilts and I've started getting the fabric together (it's going to take A LOT of fabric).

I'm hoping to participate in FGB 2010 but I'm looking to complete everything for '09 first.

I just purchased my plane tickets for ComicCon 2010. I'm super duper excited. I've never seen the Pacific Ocean. I've never been farther west than Pennsylvania so this is all new to me. It'll be my first time flying by myself which scares me. I think I have more anxiety attacks about the crowds that'll be at the convention center than the actual flying. haha

I just want it to be July >.<

I'm gearing up for my 4th semester at UCB. All of my classes are online (I've always worked better by myself anyway haha) so I'm hoping this will be more helpful than detrimental to my SAD. For classes I'm taking: Intro to Human Sexuality, Intro to Philosophy, Women in Music in the 20th century, and U.S. History. Fun stuff.

I'll be taking on more responsibility at work, which means more hours (SO happy I got that pay raise in the fall).

Just rereading all that makes me want this semester to be over already and it hasn't even started.

I'm still looking into applying to Bowdoin and UMO but those have kind of taken a back seat. I'm also starting to think about getting another job. I love working on campus and they're very flexible but the pay is not nearly enough for living expenses.

I hate being a grown-up sometimes.

AND my sister is going to Farmington in the Fall. I'm very proud and excited (she'll be out of the house! woo!).

I can't think of anything else. Lot's of things have happened since November but my battery is dying and my fingers are tired. haha.

Oh! If you have a gut of steel (or buns, whatever floats your boat) check out Just Sleeping Awake, recently started by the lovely and talented Folklorn. She's mah friend ^.^

I think that's all for now.

Stressed

No witty stuff here.

The issue of my coworker sexually harassing me has been dealt with. His hours have been changed so that out of all the hours we both work in a week we'll only see each other 1 of those hours. He has been forewarned that his behavior was unacceptable and it will not be tolerated.

Work today was a little bizarre to say the least. They've moved me from my little closet into my boss (Becky's) office. Today she had letters she needed to send out so she talked while I typed (because who knew I could type the fastest of all the employees?) but there were five of these letters she needed to have written up and my boss has that Lincoln accent so it was all improper grammar and I hate the Lincoln accent, I really do.
So, that took a good 2 hours. I was able to break free for a few minutes to visit the microwave to heat up my soup for lunch and then back into the office where she proceeded to start talking to the printers. And by talking I mean, she yelled at them until she figured out that one was out of ink and the other was out of paper.
When she had calmed down from that she started singing...loudly, and very very off key. First it was Beauty and the Beast, "Oh To Be Human Again," then she switched over to, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." By the end of it, I was ready to poke myself in the ears with fire pokers. Honestly! I know it was slow but that was painful.

I'm starting to miss my closet.

As far as my classes go, I know I'm passing Theatre and Biology, as far as English and Feminist Theory go, I'm not really sure.

To give you an idea of how far behind I am on the subject of homework, here's the list:

(Keep in mind I need to complete this all at the very least Sunday, at the very most Tuesday, of next week.)

In Theatre: Must read pages 217-405 before Tuesday of next week and complete a 4-page play report by that same time.

In English: Must read Ralph Waldo Emerson's "Self-Reliance and Other Essays" (117 pages), Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven and Other Favorite Poems" (50 pages), and complete a 1,000 word paper over both books by Tuesday.

In Biology: Lab Report that is due Monday (who would have thought that Biology would be my easy class?)

In Feminist Theory: Must read 5 chapters of 60-90 pages and complete 5 2-page papers by Sunday.

Like I said, lots of stuff to do. On top of that I have to start figuring out my topics for final papers and I have like 3 articles to write for the first edition of the newspaper.

I'm swamped.

I'll see you all when I dig myself out from under this hole.

EverybodyLovesAYeti(NeedsAVacation)

P.S. I may...have to disappear for a few days and it won't be because I'm playing catch up on homework. I have some health issues I'm working out right now.

Pic Spam To Come Laterrr

I'm naughty.

Really, really naughty.

On that note, I'll let you know why (because it's not for the reasons you're thinking, you dirty little chickens).

I have a massive load of homework. I haven't done any of it.

To give you an idea I'll post the links for a majority of my English homework and give you an idea on the assignments I have to finish in the next day.

For English:
We have to read The Prologue, The Author to Her Book, To My Dear and Loving Husband, and Before the Birth of One of Her Children by Anne Bradstreet (I'd recommend googling them. They're all very good. I especially like The Prologue).

To follow all of those up we have to read everything from the following links:
http://www.museeprotestant.org/Pages/Notices.php?scatid=5&noticeid=206&lev=1&Lget=EN

http://classics.mit.edu/Plutarch/demosthe.html

http://www.pantheon.org/articles/m/muses.html

http://www.puritansermons.com/poetry/anne10.htm

http://www.puritansermons.com/poetry/anne02.htm

http://www.puritansermons.com/poetry/anne11.htm

http://www.puritansermons.com/poetry/anne13.htm

AND we still have to read the sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God".

That's just English.

I still have the twenty-six pages to read for Theatre from the textbook and the lab work for Biology.

On top of THAT I have Fem. Theory which is all as follows (taken directly from the syllabus):

Treichler and Kramarae. “Feminism” from The Feminist Dictionary
Walker. “Womanist,”
Bunch. “Not by Degrees: Feminist Theory and Education,”
Lorde, “The Master’s Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master’s House,” (Link because I have the wrong edition of the book: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/pipermail/margins-to-centre/2006-March/000794.html)
hooks. “Theory as Liberatory Practice,”
Lexicon of the Debates, (section pages: 34-55)
hooks, Feminist Theory: From Margin to Center : “Preface to the 2nd edition”

*sigh* This is gonna be fun.

I have no idea how I was talked into going to the Lia-Sophia party at 6 but I was. So that's going to delay my homework for at least another hour and a half.

*facepalm* I'm so dead.

If you're wondering about the title of this post it's because I went on a little picture-happy spree today. I was bored and it's a nice day sooo I'll post those pictures later. haha.

Alright, I've got dinner to eat.

I Need A Moment To Rant

OKAY.

People are taking things to a whole new level. Not only has this person insulted my career path, which I can take because not that many people have a real respect for it anyway, but now they've gone on to insulting me on a whole new personal level.

This was just a low blow and I mean really low, like below the belt low. Like knock me over and kick me in the gut while I'm down kinda low.

I'm pissed and upset and this person is never going to know what they did because they are one of those people who doesn't acknowledge what they've done. They continue on as if nothing ever happened because they don't think what they're doing is wrong.

I've got a tough enough skin that I can take just about anything anyone throws at me but when you insult what goes on in my head and what I've gone through, you and I, we're gonna have some issues.

And I'll sit here and take it because they don't do this to other people. I guess I'm just special.

This Post Is Brought To You By...

Okay, first things first...

The thing I forgot in the last post was my first English class and I don't know HOW I could ever have forgotten this "conversation".

We had to go around and say our names, and how far along in our degree programs we were and whatever the hell else we wanted to add. So the first girl goes and she says her name (which I've forgotten already) and goes through the rest of that rig-a-ma-role and gets to the most recent book she's read which dun dun DUN just so happens to be Twilight.

And I'm at the back of the room going "YES, I'm NOT the only dork in here" and then she goes on to praise Stephanie Meyer as being one of the greatest writers of all time..and my face dropped and I pretty much went WHAT THE FUCK. The girl sitting to my right inched away from me, I swear.

And Retzlaff, let's face it, she's a little gullible, especially with the way this girl is going on and on and on and ON about how wonderful it is.

So I'm back there formulating how I'm going to set Retzlaff straight, because I love her and no one should be mislead like that. I'll admit Twilight is great for YA but seriously? Retlaff is someone who sits and reads Anne Bradstreet, and Austen, and Agatha Christie because she WANTS to. She likes that kind of thing and we're very similar in that sense.

So, it gets to my turn and I go through the motions and because I took WST101 with Kay and she remembers me (as the shy little lurker in the background with...oh how did she put it?... A "brilliant" mind..yeah, that's right I'm brilliant...thank you so much for noticing Kay) we were joking around and having fun and she was very interested to learn about how I wanted to pursue an education in Women's Studies with a focus on the literature.

And then I dropped the bomb...yes, the bomb that I TOO had read Twilight. Well..needless to say me and this other girl got all up in each others business debating Stephanie Meyers prowess as a writer. It got a little gory, I'll admit.

I like Twilight, but only for the concept not the actual writing and this girl is sitting there and she's OLDER than me and she says that the CLASSICS have nothing on SMeyer and I got all pissy about it because nothing beats a good Bronte or Austen on a rainy day NOTHING. Eventually Retlaff broke us up but she was all intrigued and one girl offered to loan Kay her copies (turns out there were three other women in there who had read it).

Needless to say, it was weird. I don't think I've ever gotten into such a heated debate with someone even that time in 8th grade when Matt Macone and I were going back forth about the Holocaust and he made me cry. Yeah, it was worse than that.

Okay to fast forward past all that angst and into today's angst. If you follow me on Twitter (because it's all sorts of magical) then you probably got the tweet I posted after my Theatre class (Something along the lines of "One of my biggest pet peeves is when people are inconsiderate...").

I have two classes they both meet Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you knew me at the time of last fall when I first started college you know about the three-month puking thing. Long story short, I have really severe SEVERE anxiety to the point that I can make myself physically sick (in the case of last fall it was everyday for three months straight). It being the beginning of a new semester, I haven't thrown up yet but I do still get very very nauseous. So nauseous in fact, that I can't eat breakfast.

I've told you all that to tell you this,
I have my ENG102w class that meets from 10-11:20 and then I have my DRA110 class that meets from 11:30-12:50. I love my DRA professor. Batty is a little loony and if you just let him go off on his tangents he's a happy man. I do have respect for him because he knows what he's talking about just as I have had respect for all of my professors.

But what this kid did goes beyond disrespecting the professor, he disrespected the other seventeen students in that classroom.

Because I can't eat in the morning I have to wait until after my classes. Well, today was one of the days where they had a luncheon thing where you can meet the Student Government reps and my class is just down the hall from the lounge where they hold these meetings.

And they had pizza and it smelled GOOOOOOOD.

And we were all content to sit there and smell it and be hungry because we are good, diligent students.

Well...come noon, you can hear peoples stomachs grumbling but we all stayed and listened to Batty rant about poo-berty (because he pronounces puberty weird), all of us but one.

The kid behind me leaves the classroom comes back a few minutes later with two HUGE slices of pizza. I was pissed, Batty just looked surprised and everyone else was shooting him dirty looks.

He sits behind me and I hate it when I have people chewing in my ear so obviously I'm getting a little irked about it. Then he starts participating in the class discussion with his mouth FULL. He's spewing bits of food on the back of my neck and everyone is just sitting there watching him talk with his mouth full. I was actually having fun in my theatre class until that kid came back in with that paper plate.

Still, I got a couple good quotes from Batty which I will post for you now:

"We are a mean and horny race." -From our discussion on video games (I told you he gets off topic).

"The wonderful thing about censorship is that it always backfires"- From our discussion on censorship of Kurt Cobain songs over classic literature.

And now I have an unbelievable amount of homework to start on. Bright side of this, I have no classes tomorrow or Monday (because of Labor Day).

P.S. Being inconsiderate is not the only thing pissing me off today. People need to stop being so fucking ignorant. For one, it makes YOU look stupid. Two, it makes ME hate you (and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only the one who's going to hate you). Three, it's getting SO fucking tired.

Learn about it before you go spouting off shit that's entirely presumptuous. Seriously, if there is one sure-fire way to look completely uneducated it's to say stupid shit like that. Stop.

Taking A Second To Breathe...

*SIGH*

HI EVERYONE.

Oh my geee. First week of classes is almost over, I haven't even gone back to work, and I already wanna crawl in a hole and sleep for a hundred thousand years.

I'm writing this real quick while my tremendous reading assignment for English102w prints.

I have so much to say and I don't think I can type fast enough.

Let's see, first, I've turned twenty. Yay! It was pretty great fun even though I spent most of the morning making lunch. I got some great presents and my cake was totally made of WIN.

I'm finally no longer an American Folk Festival virgin. I went twice and fell in love with Cherish the Women, a celtic band (who somehow worked in a Canadian violinist).

They had neat-o accents and I swear, I died a little when those dancers came on stage. So jealous! I've always wanted to do that.

Anyway, moving on, first day of classes I thought I was gonna puke because of nerves. Ended up not puking and not having a lab so I was happy. I've fallen in love with Klose, my Biology teacher. He rocks my non-existent (because seriously who wears 'em when it's still warm?) socks.

Ended up going to get an iTunes gift card to celebrate and I was TAXED for it. 75 Cents at that. Pissed as hell about it too. Completely ruined my day.

Second day of classes, again, thought I was gonna throw up but I didn't.

English was interesting. I love Retzlaff don't get me wrong, but I forgot how fast and how much she can talk. Class went over by five minutes and I had five minutes to get my junk out to my car and drive across campus and find the room for my DRA class. Yeah, went into the wrong room and ended up in a Statistics class. Thankfully I looked over at the kid next to me and noticed his book. Got up and left, ended up that the next class over was mine. I arrived with 1 minute to spare and thankfully the professor was late.

Batty was great but the room smelled funny. Apparently they're supposed to put new carpeting in (which I hope it's soon it seriously smells like piss in there).

Just checked the printer, only on page 19 of whatever and I'm starting to run out of ink...fantastic.

Alright, back to Batty. That man can go on trips too and I don't mean the fun kind. He gets completely off topic. It's a theatre class and I understand there's a great history involved HOWEVER, we got a history lesson on everything BUT theatre. I ended up almost falling asleep.

Ended up going home and taking my sister to the playground. Where, those of you on twitter, got a free picture show of our fun.

Came home and played Apples to Apples and Dev's boyfriend commented about my nipples. Overall, it was very awkward for everyone but him.

Ended up passing out around 8 because of a migraine.

Which leads us to today, the third day of classes. Today was a pretty good day. I only had Bio and because next Monday is Labor Day I have no classes, therefore I was assigned my lab assignment early. I'm a little panicky about it because it involves a computer game...don't ask me why. I suck at computer games, or well, video games period. I'm just not coordinated in a way that makes it possible to do them.

Came home, changed into my jammies, had lunch with Mumzi, got dressed again to go out to dinner. Parents were (still are) out of town so we went to McDonald's. Ended going to see Dev's friend Barbara afterwards so the little sister could get a strawberry milkshake. Colored pages at Nicky's while a little boy next to us spit chocolate milk out all over Devon.

And because we love spending any money that isn't ours, we headed over to the Hannaford to get junk food and then to the Dollar Tree. I ended up with a My Little Pony (thank you for renewing this obsession in me Brie) coloring book and Devon got silly putty.

Now I'm tackling the Everest size mountain of reading Retzlaff assigned for tomorrow. *sigh* I know I'm forgetting some of it. Not sure what it is and I'm sure I'll think of it later but right now I just wanna sleep. Alas, sleep has to wait for probably a couple more hours.
